Presidential candidate, Akere Muna has been promised victory at October 7, 2018 polls in Cameroon. The promise was made last September 22, 2018 by militants and supporters of the various platforms backing the candidacy of Barrister Akere Muna at this year’s presidential polls.
Uniting their voices in support of Akere Muna at the Now Platform’s convention organized at the Yaounde Conference Centre, participants after unanimously agreeing that the present regime has placed the country on drips, promised to reverse the situation come October 7 when they will elect Akere Muna as the first Anglophone to rule Cameroon since independence.
Other key speakers at the convention such as Batonnier Yondo Black of the UPC party and the Mayor of Yabassi, Jacques Maboula all described Akere Muna as the right person for the top job of President of the Republic.
The Mayor of Yabassi urged voters not to be deceived by the CPDM regime preaching fear for change at the helm of the state.
Dr Hameni Mbieleu, the President of UPC, Habiba Issa, the President of AFP, Alice Sadio said time has come for an Anglophone to be given the chance to rule Cameroon after 50 years of domination by Francophones so that as a renowned lawyer and expert on the fight against corruption and bad governance, he can introduce the New Republic.
In his program presented to voters, Akere Muna said once in office, he will allocate 700 billion each year to cover health insurance, 100 million to offer free textbooks to pupils and students etc.
He said “We will start by evaluating the empty country we inherited because of many years of bad governance.”
Blaming the regime for “deliberately allowing things to deteriorate in the NW and SW regions,” he explained that Cameroon is to Central Africa what the two regions are to Cameroon given that they alone constitute 40% of the public investment budget.
He regretted that because of bad faith, FCFA 56 billion was lost last year and this year, close to FCFA 100 billion will be lost in the Anglophone regions. The PDF candidate added that about 6000 and 8000 jobs have been lost in addition to the cost of war “We need peace. I know we will deliver this country and the system of corruption and bad governance.”
Akere Muna concluded by urging his supporters to “use the orange ballot paper on October 7 as the best way to say goodbye to a regime that has landed Cameroon where we find ourselves now.”
