In the wake of the national dialogue slated for September 30 to October 4, 2019, Ambazonian activist last Friday September 20, stormed Cameroon embassy in Canada to forestall what they termed “fake dialogue” organized by the ambassador. During the protest, they replaced the Cameroon flag with the Ambazonia flag.
In a similar protest in New York, the Ambazonia activists said “we are not going to play a party to a manipulative regime in Yaounde that is trying to receive the international community by calling for a dialogue, which is actually a monologue. The protesters, predominantly women (Takumbengs), who came out with red hair scarfs and white loin decried the killing in the Anglophone regions, life sentence on the Ambazonia leaders as they commemorated September 22, a day in 2017 when a massive peaceful street protest was carried out in the North West and South West regions of Cameroon against continuous detention of some activist.
In a release on the position of the Ambazonia Interim Government published, Friday September 20, 2019, the Secretary of State/Interim Government Spokeman, Milton Taka said “This is our position: we have a leader and he is in prison in LRC. Our revolutionary leader, SisikuAyukTabe, other Ambazonia leaders and co. all detained unlawfully by Cameroun lead out negotiation team. Any negotiation or what ever begins with them. Untill this is done, we are not party to any one-side negotiation drama being run by Yaounde”.
