The seizure was made at the Mayo-Badji check-point, located between the Cameroonian village of Alatte and the border with Nigeria.

Playing their full role as defenders of the national territory alongside the traditional elements of Forces of Law and Order, the Banyo elements of the Customs Mobile Brigade demonstrated their bravery in fighting against trans-border insecurity.

As the two transporters were unable to present the documents related to the circulation of these goods on the national territory, it was concluded that there was smuggling and importation of prohibited goods. Said offenses are provided for by articles 55, 352 (1), 446 (1), 472 (2b) and punished by article 469 of the CEMAC Customs Code on the one hand, and the provisions of Law No. 2016/ 015 of December 14, 2016 on the general regime of weapons and munitions in Cameroon, on the other hand. The Customs officers remain active in the national territory and at borders.
