Beac: Yvon Sana Bangui, the 49-year-old Central African who becomes governor of the Bank of Central African States

A lover of data and with 19 years of experience in the mysteries of the Central Bank, Abbas Mahamat Tolli’s successor was proposed by Faustin Archange Touadera, the Central African head of state .

Yvon Sana Bangui is a full head, who heads the Bank of Central African States (Beac) on the basis of the principle of rotation. After Chad, it is the country of Faustin Archange Touadera to occupy the post of governor of the Beac. The Central African head of state proposed this man who will be 50 years old on May 25.

Holder of a Baccalaureate C obtained in his country, the new boss of the Beac also has a degree in applied mathematics, a higher diploma in IT and telecommunications, a Master in economics and public management, parchments obtained in France.

A lover of chalk, he began his teaching career at the Higher Institute of Technology of the University of Bangui, and at the National Informatics Office. At that time, by chance, Professor Touadera, another mathematician, was rector of this university. The two minds are united from then on.

The extraordinary session of the Conference of Heads of State of Cemac which is being held this February 9, 2024 by videoconference will ratify the choice for the post of governor of the Beac of this intellectual who arrived at the Central Bank in 2005 and who was at the heart of many innovations of this financial institution. The Bank owes it the management of the single accounts of the National Treasuries, the reform of monetary programming in the Cemac zone, the overhaul of the Cemac Banking Risk Center, the development of a regional financial inclusion strategy and the implementation establishment of a system for monitoring and promoting access to financial services in Cemac, modernization of the information system of the trading room, manager of foreign exchange reserves, the master plan for payment systems and means in the Cemac zone.

A native of Bégoua, a commune in the Bangui conurbation and prefecture, Sana Bangui Yvon currently holds the position of Central Director of IT Systems at Beac. This February 9, 2024, in addition to the designation of the new governor of the Beac, the extraordinary session of the Conference of Heads of State of Cemac, has planned an agenda which concerns the presentation of the file of the Secretary General of the Central African Banking Commission (Cobac), presentation of the report of the outgoing Governor.
