Bessah elite raise funds for village development

The sons and daughters of Bessah a village in Misaje sub division in Donga Mantung division, North West region resident in Foumbot of the Noun division in the West region for the first time hosted their brothers and sisters from within and out of the country under the umbrella of the Bessah Cultural and Development Association BECUDA, to raise funds for the development of their village.
The national BECUDA assembly meeting that took place in Foumbot on Saturday, May 6, 2017 was chaired by the national president, Professor Mpoche Kizitus with the main aim being to raise funds for their village development. The members raised over FCFA 500.000 on the spot, to add to their national treasury with the mission to assist the sixteen (16) villages that are covered by the association.
The president however highlighted the fact that the contributions from various branches were very dismal and ordered for a strict audit of active members in the various branches. This, he said, will help to control the flow of financial contributions and physical participation of members of the various branches and elites in the villages before they can ascertain how much the national treasury of the association has to assist the village in the execution of pending projects.
Mpoche Kizitus said it was the mission of the national executive to rotate meetings to various branches in order to keep them awake so as renew member’s commitment to issues that concern the development of their village. He pointed out that, rather than waiting on government, the development of any village depends on the concrete efforts of the elite. He used the occasion to enumerate in financial terms what the home branch has realized through contributions from the various branches. He particularly thanked Foumbot branch president, Njena Isaac for the measures put in place to ensure the vibrancy of the chapter.
The national president later met with the executives of the various branches and members to sort out some shortcomings, appreciated the smooth functioning of the associations in the different branches and cautioned them to be aware that “when two brothers fight, the enemy steals their property”. He further cautioned the Bamenda and Kumba branches against infighting and to avoid crisis.
