Cameroonian women launch crusade to end war, consolidate peace

Cameroonian women from all the ten regions of the country gathered under the umbrella of a coalition known as Peace Crusaders, have launched a national call demanding for immediate end to hostilities in the North West and South West regions of the country and the consolidation of peace.
Launching the national call of Cameroonian Women to end violence and consolidate peace last June 25, 2019 at the Conference Hall of the Red Cross in Yaounde with support from the United Nations system in Cameroon, about 2000 mothers of peace with most of them being Internally Displaced Persons from the North West and South regions wailed that “We are tired of burying our children, our husbands and living in total fear of the unknown.”

Speaking at a press briefing granted by the Platform Crusaders for Peace in prelude to the official launching of a national call of
Cameroonian women, Prof Justine Diffo Tchunkam expressed gratitude to the UN systems in Cameroon for supporting their initiative. She announced the organization on July 2 and 3, 2019 of a capacity building workshop at the Yaounde Mont Febe Hotel for women who will be sent down to security troubled regions like the Adamawa, North West, East and South West regions in order to continuously push for the restoration of peace in Cameroon.
Rejoicing over the fact that women from the ten regions of the country massively adhered to the project, Prof Justine Diffo thanked religious authorities from Muslim and Christian communities for accepting to be part of their movement.
Youth leader, Fongoh Leonel explained that Peace Crusader is a Non Governmental Organization, NGO put in place with support from the United Nations System in Cameroon to echo messages of love and peace in the Cameroonian troubled society.
