The founder of the Kingship International Ministries and 2018 Presidential candidate, Prophet Frankline Ndifor Afanwi is dead. The news of his death was first announced by his friend and leader of the PURS political party, Serge Espoir Matomba on his Facebook page, Saturday, May 16, 2020.
According to Matomba, the Prophet died on Saturday morning at his residence in Douala Cameroon. However, family sources were yet to confirm the information while a spokesperson of ‘Prophet Frank’ contacted by The SUN remained tight-lipped on the issue but said he will react at the ‘appropriate time’.
Reports from Douala say there was tension at his residence as family members blocked the entrance and denied access to anybody, even to local administrative authorities.
“Prophet Frank’s’ last public outing was on April 20 when he went out on the streets of the economic capital, Douala to distribute kits in the fight against the COVID-19.
The SUN later learnt that late Prophet Frankline Afanwi Ndifor who is said to have died of Covid-19 was laid to rest at the Kotto Bass cemetery in Bonaberi, Douala, few hours after his death.
His body was forcefully taken from his residence after a tussle between security forces, members of his church and his family, The SUN gathered. Tear gas was equally used to disperse a crowd preventing security forces from taking his corpse. His family insists he didn’t die of the coronavirus. Prophet Frank leaves behind a wife and four kids to mourn him.
Christians of Kingship International are still inconsolable as their leader, Prophet Franklin Ndifor Afanwi now rests in the Kotto Bass cemetery in Douala. They still cannot believe their leader would leave them in such dramatic fashion. Earlier on, they pleaded with authorities to give them until Sunday, May 17, 2020 to pray over the remains for a miracle.
However, due to alleged reports that the prophet died of COVID-19, which the family strongly denies, security forces dispersed the crowd, shoveled their way in, and took the corpse away for burial in a plastic bag.
He was 40.
