Muslim commits suicide on Ramadan eve
There was shock and consternation at the Kumba main market on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 as the traders woke up to discover that a popular night watch had committed suicide at a building beside the market. Commentators couldn’t come to terms why a Muslim, going by the name Kimbo Emmanuel from the Far North Region of Cameroon will decide to give up the ghost in such a mysterious manner during the Ramadan period. Traders who knew him described him as a calm and hardworking individual who never exchanged bitter words with anybody around the area. When the Deputy State Council alongside his collaborator, accompanied by a Medical Doctor and elements of the Kumba Central Police Station arrived the scene, it was discovered that there was a rope less fastened round late Kimbo Emmanuel’s neck, from the first floor of the building and his legs well placed on the outside veranda. Many questions remain unanswered, as the proprietor of the business complex alongside other workers of the complex where Kimbo Emmanuel struggled to earn his living by press time, had been summoned for interrogation.
Fire gulps 70-year-old man, families rendered homeless
A 70-year-old man from Manyu extraction, by name Pa Orock Johnson has been consumed by fire, while Good Samaritans are currently offering their residence to some families who remain homeless, due to the inferno that took place in the ‘fence’ neighbourhood of Kosala I, in Kumba II Sub Division, Meme Division, South West Region, in the early hours of Saturday June 1, 2019. Reports hold that the fire whose cause remains a mystery, swept through the old age semi-permanent buildings hosting many family residences and businesses. It is thanks to the intervention of the Army Rescue Unit that things came to normal, though almost the whole building had been razed to the ground, reports say. Surprisingly, it was only when denizens of the locality who came to the scene after the incident, especially charcoal hunting children, that the remains of Pa Orock Johnson were discovered by them. The deceased was a popular lamp repairer in the area. At press time, Late Pa Orock Johnson’s remains had been buried by members of the Manyu extraction in Kumba.

Unfortunately for them, the military in their usual patrol were coming from the Malende end heading to their Kumba base. They confronted the Separatist Fighters, which resulted in the shooting to death of the two Separatist Fighters and the unfortunate death of the supposed Manager of the Cocoa Store that was kidnapped by the alleged amba boys. However, The SUN cannot tell with exactitude who shot to death the Manager of the Cocoa Store.
