The Director General of Elections at Elections Cameroon, ELECAM, Erik Essousse has written a new book in French titled “Valeurs fondamentales parfaites et Developpement de l’Afrique de la Renaissance aux lumieres africains”, literally translated into English as ‘Perfect fundamental values and development of Africa from Renaissance to African Lights’.
The book, published by L’Harmattan Publishing House was launched in Yaounde last June 25, 2019 at Amphi Herve Bourges of the National Advanced School of Mass Communication, ASMAC.
Panellists made up of university dons who flanked the author described the book as key to the development of the African Continent. Urging the public in Cameroon in particular and Africa in general to widely consume the book said to contain ingredients necessary to take Africa to higher heights, various speakers such as the Director of ASMAC, Prof Charles Boyomo Assala, Prof Alawadi Zelao of the University of Dschang and Dr Ngono Basile, Associate Lecturer at ASMAC described Dr Erik Essousse as a man of perfect knowledge blessed by God for a smooth political career.
“Your work is well written in good French which has become very rare these days because even teachers are no longer comfortable in writing nowadays”, Prof Boyomo Assala confided in Erik Essousse.
Talking to reporters at the end of the launching ceremony, the author of the 464 pages book said “To be developed is first of all a question of knowledge. True, perfect knowledge of certainty passed through human beings who have the first and last capacities in development. Therefore, if the human being is developed, the country will be developed as well. We want to make our children understand that development is first of all a question of having perfect knowledge and thoughts before being material knowledge. My book illustrates that the development of human societies is first of all the result of true, perfect and eternal knowledge, a move of conversion of the soul towards true, the good and the beautiful.”
The Director of ASMAC said the author suggests in his book that there is the possibility of reconciliation between spiritualism and creationism.
Thanking Prof Boyomo Assala for inviting him to come and present his new book to students, Dr Erik Essousse while stressing that “For Africa to develop, it needs God’s knowledge and that of human beings”, disclosed that “the church has structured my life.”
Volume 1 of the book prefaced by Simon Bolivar Njami-Nwandi and post-faced by Prof Jacques Fame Ndongo is sold nationwide at FCFA 20 000frs to the public and 5000frs to students.
