The ruling Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement, CPDM party in Fako Division has reviewed it’s efforts towards ensuring victory for their candidate and chairman, Paul Biya, in the forthcoming October 12 Presidential election.
The meeting took place on last July 23 in Buea, chaired by the head of the Fako Permanent Divisional Delegation of the Central Committee of the CPDM, Prof. Nalova Lyonga who is also Minister of Secondary Education. It brought key party stakeholders at the Divisional level like Section Presidents, Members of Parliament, Mayors, and heads of the youth and women’s wings of the party’s seven sections in the division.

Prof. Nalova calls for teamwork
In her opening address, Prof. Nalova said the gathering was crucial in fine-tuning preparations to deliver a resounding victory for their flagbearer, Paul Biya. She called on her party comrades to freely express their positions on issues to resolve grievances, build bridges and foster unity and cooperation.
“We are people from Fako and we expect everything to be successful. We never mind that people say there are problems – we know there are problems but we also have methods of solving our problems. Our methods shall never fail, and our methods will always make us who we are – people of Fako,” the CPDM Fako boss stated.
To Nalova, the people of Fako are unique in that they are outspoken and lobbyists for peace and prosperity. She tasked her peers not to relent but to project the interest of the area on the national frontiers. The CPDM Fako team head went on to remind attendees of the need which stood before them. She told them that the campaigns for their champion in the division needed significant resources which they had the burden to provide despite the hardening economic climate.
“We thank you for coming to reflect on how prepared we are. It’s a difficult moment, but also a moment that needs money. In fact, that’s one of the things that people don’t have today. But we are hoping that we will be able to find money and make things move,” she said.
Stakeholders appraisal
Deliberations were inspired by the theme; “Reinforcing ethical conduct and camaraderie: A foundation for victory in the 2025 Presidential Election of the CPDM in Fako Division”. Militants praised the outcome, which, according to them, will further guarantee Biya’s October triumph in the Division.
Limbe City Mayor, Paul Efome, a member of the local party executive bench said: “Prof Nalova made us understand that we are all CPDM. And so, we all have to work together for Paul Biya’s victory in the upcoming presidential election. We discussed some strategies that we think, if used, will be better for our electorates within our various constituencies. This is a new spirit that she has brought.”
Going by the host Section President of Buea, Mayor David Mafani Namange, he termed the deliberations as strategic and important. He assured that they were on the ground, tying the bits for Biya’s victory come October, and that following the meeting, there is renewed enthusiasm and determination.
