Fako Senior Divisional Officer SDO, Engelbert Viang Mekala, has issued a communique restricting the circulation of commercial motorbikes in Limbe municipality.

In a communique dated Friday, October 24, the SDO states that, “For reasons of risk of disturbance of public order, the circulation of commercial motorbikes within the city of Limbe is hereby prohibited from Monday, October 27, 2025, from 5:00a.m. to Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at 8:00 p.m.”
He added that defaulters of the provisions of this Prefectoral Order are liable to sanctions provided by law in relation to the maintenance of law and order.
Viang Mekala instructed the Divisional Officers of Limbe I, II, and III Subdivisions, the Divisional Delegate of Transport-Fako, and the Forces of Defense and Security to each, within their spheres of competence, ensure the strict implementation of the provisions of this order.
The action follows others taken by some administrators in other areas in the country. The move, according to the administration is to avert plans by the motorbike sector, alongside the population to engage protests, in line with the October 12 Presidential election.
