The Government Delegate to the Limbe City Council Motanga Andrew Monjimba has urged youths, within the Limbe municipality to surmount pressure from separatists and come out massively for the Youth Day Celebration in Limbe comes Monday February 11, 2019.
The meeting that brought together bike riders, taxi drivers and president of service groups within Limbe municipality.
The Government Delegate made this clarion call on Friday February 1, 2019 at the Limbe City Council Hall Bota. While chatting on the way forward for a successful Youth Day Celebration in Limbe contrary to what many scholars are claiming the celebration would not be successful.
“Come out in your numbers with your sign board and march, even those youth groups which has not registered” – Motanga Andrew stated while cautioning the youths groups to be aware of infiltrator, know the names of their members identity.
“If you leave yourself to be venerable in your group, then it may not be anything” Motanga Andrew said. Materialism has become the other of the day, among the youths.
On his part the Divisional Delegate of Youth affairs Ekombe Mbua regretted the only fear that this year’s event has is that, it falls on Monday which is regarded as Ghost Town day. “We can make that day memorable in Limbe as far as South West Region is concern.”
Ekombe Mbua said the main reason is, that the youth should work in synergy with the administration. He noted that, there is general fear in the air that, we are afraid of Ghost Town which does not exist in Limbe. Since this crisis begins have you heard of any incident in Limbe? Ekombe Mbua questioned.
While Mayor Ro-danny Mokako Mbua told the Youths that, there is will be enough security to guarantee the smooth running of the Youth Day Celebration in Limbe 1 municipality. The Mayor urged the youths to frequently remind their peers before February 11, so others will not forget.
During the meeting, the Divisional President of Cameroon Youth Council, CNYC, Paul Ngale who was joined by his peer Simon Ndive Kalla Subdivisional Vice President for Limbe I CNYC. They cautioned that, youths in Limbe should be responsible by marching on that day. They also told their peers not to discuss with those championing the separatist tendencies.
While Asong Hilary lamented that most cultural groups have hardly been part of February 11 March pass, which may not be easy with some to be able to March as they left school several years ago.
While Mbong Marshall of Mabeta New Layout suggested that they, are willing to March but his main worry is t shirt because his Youth group does not have cultural fabric to March with.
On her part the Subdivisional delegate of Youth and Civic Education, madam Koko regretted that there are a lot of youth group which are operating illegally in Limbe I municipality. She however used the opportunity to inform the youths to register themselves so they can receive advantages from her ministry.
At the end of the meeting the President of Motor bike riders and taxi drivers all vowed to work on that day to transport people to the field.
