Reports say the corpse of a new born baby boy has been retrieved from a river at Ndiba Street, Kumba Town, South West Region.
The incident is a suspected case of a woman who dumped the baby in a river after giving birth.
The mortal remains of the baby were recovered from the river by the Kumba Army Rescue Unit on May 26.
The Commander of the Kumba Army Rescue Unit at the end of the rescue mission strongly condemned the act which he termed evil. He called on young girls who get pregnant out of wedlock and have difficulties in maintaining their children to make use of social services. He added that those services including Orphanages will better assist them in such cases rather than killing the child.
