Welcoming the population at the meeting, Mayor Mbwaye expressed joy for the massive turnout and promptness to her invitation which she said is clear indication of their interest and attachment to the well-being of the Limbe I Council and the entire municipality.

Mbwaye Eposi encouraged communities to work towards developing their quarters before applauding those who have already taken the initiative to light their neighborhoods, rehabilitate roads among others.

She beckoned on the population to work in synergy with Limbe I Council and enjoy many development projects from the partnership. She promised to bring more development projects in Limbe I municipality.

Mbwaye added that Limbe I Council organised the meeting to create an enabling platform for citizen participation in the development of its affairs in a Result-Based Management approach.

“This BOD provides the avenue for the Limbe I council to have a consultative platform with the population on all the projects realised and prospect for coming year by the Limbe I Council in a given period of time, in this case we are going to project 2025, 2026 and 2027, and also project on new development objectives”, she said.

She added that BOD also gives the opportunity for each denizen of Limbe I municipality, to put in his or her contribution(s) regarding projects or reforms which they think the Limbe I Council should adopt for the prosperity of the Municipality.

Recall that the law to organise BOD was enforced since 2020 and so far, councils around the country are gradually implementing it.

“Today in this BOD of Limbe I Council, there shall be no protocol or special consideration. This is the platform where everyone’s opinion regardless of class, background or rank in society shall have equal weight and value”, Mbwaye said at the start of the meeting.

She urged everyone to feel comfortable and speak without pressure and equally invited them to bring forth sincere, meaningful and development-driven projects capable of catapulting the city towards an irreversible emergence with contributions from any domain whether from environmental protection, economy, health, infrastructural development, sports and culture among others.

She emphasised that the growth, emergence and development of the municipality lies entirely on the collective participations of all. “It is true that the Limbe I Council has an impressive number of staff, but they cannot always be all-knowing on everything. You, dear people of Limbe who go through the realities of Life in your different villages and quarters can bring in that plus which shall complement them and yield better results”, Mbwaye said to the population present.

Limbe I Council Mayor Mbwaye Eposi is optimistic that this BOD shall trigger a process that shall shape and render more realistic, the 2025 Budget of the Limbe I Council.
