Addressing the various groups, Meme SDO, Chamberlain Ntou’ou Ndong told them that the Head of State acknowledges the services they render to their communities, reason why he decided to give them this assistance to facilitate their work and encourage them to do more.
“These boys have tried their best in their various quarters; if you go to Bonakama, they are available to secure the population and their properties. In fact, it was not easy for them without the necessary means; that is why their father, father of the nation, the Head of State sent this token and it is just the beginning. I am sure he sends this support to them to permit them to get some commodities in order to move forward this particular activity”, Meme SDO said.
Meme SDO further advised them that given the fact that their job is risky, they should endeavour to work in collaboration with the forces of law and order as well as their various Divisional Officers.
The administrator equally encouraged youths in other neighbourhood to organize their own vigilante groups under the supervision of the Divisional Officers.
The leader of the best vigilante group in Kumba, the Bonakama vigilante group on his part, thanked the Head of State for appreciating the work they do for their neighbourhood. He noted that they were faced with some difficulties though they have been working very hard. Adding that the financial support and more especially the bike will go a long way to facilitate and better off the work they do.
