After some over twenty armed fighters of the ‘Ambazonian war of independence’ raided Galim sub division in Bamboutus Division in the West Region of Cameroon, last March 7, 2020 and killed at least five persons including four forces of law and order, carting away with some weapons and ammunition according to sources in Galim, the Cameroonian Defence Forces have been on the oppressive in Ngoketunjia Division since Tuesday, March 10, 2020.
Given that Bamessing in Ndop shares bounds with Galim in the West region, it is easier to move into the sub division from Ndop. Sources say the fighters rode into the village on bikes, more than 20 in number.
When a video of celebration went viral online made by the attackers and displaying their new weapons seized from the military in a bloody attack and disclosing their present location to be Ndop Ngoketunjia, it could already be sensed that there will be serious trouble in the division.
The Cameroonian defence and security forces on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 descended to Babessi where they launched a simultaneous attack on ‘Amba camps’ there, destroying and seizing some weapons, killing about four. They continued the attack next day in Bafanji and Bamessing where some souls too perished. The SUN cannot independently confirm the exact toll of deaths recorded within the two days.
