The Minister of the Economy, Planning and Regional Development, Alamine Ousmane Mey had a working session with a high level delegation of China Eximbank led by the Vice President in charge of Risk Management, Li- Zhongyu last October 27, 2023 at his ministry in Yaounde. Attended by the Minister Delegate to the Minister of the Economy, Planning and Regional Development in charge of Planning, Paul Tasong, the Director General of CAMTEL, Judith Yah Sunday epouse Achidietc, the high level discussion enabled Minister Alamine Ousmane Mey to laud the effort of Eximbank China in financing Cameroon’s development programmes.
The Chinese delegation was made up of the Director General in charge of Risks Management, Zhang Lei, Deputy Director General in the Department of Soverein Loans, Zhou Xuwei, the Director of the Department of Risks Management, Wang Qi, the President’s Assistant in the agency of Hunan Province, Zhang Hong Liu, the Charge d’Etudes at Risks Management Department and officer in charge of operations at Eximbank, Wu Ju.
Minister Ousmane Mey appreciated the quality of their discussion and recognized the work done by the two parties. Making our cooperation ties our joint venture.
The visit of the Chinese delegation to Cameroon last October 26 to 29, 2023 falls within the framework of relaunching finance mobilization operations.
The Economy, Planning and Regional Development Minister said challenges such as COVID19, Russian war, Middle East etc are affecting the world today.
While stating that government is pleased doing business with Eximbank of China, he reassured the Chinese delegation that “It was a strong message of partnership and understanding. Our debt level is at 45% far below the 75% level.’’
