National Dialogue: PM begins consultative talks

Following President Biya’s call for a National Dialogue and his announcement of Prime Minister Head of government, Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute to lead the august event, the latter has already set the ball rolling to clear the coast for smooth talks during the dialogue proper, expected by the end of September, as prescribed by his boss, president Biya.
In this light, meetings have begun in Yaounde, comprising key stakeholders including members of government and other officials from the North West and South West regions.

Reports say following the meetings, Joseph Dion Ngute has instructed officials from the North West and South West regions to talk to regional governors. It equally filtered out that Governors on their part will be hinted on what to do as they will be responsible for sending invitations and conveying to Yaounde those who will be invited by the Prime Minister for consultations.
Reports further reveal that the Head of Government made available an e-mail address to be placed at the disposal of the public to get regional contributions.
Joseph Dion Ngute has equally held consultative talks with officials of opposition party, the Social Democratic Front (SDF). Joshua Osih, first National vice President of the party led the delegation to meet with the Prime Minister, in a close-door consultation meeting which lasted 30 minutes, The SUN gathered.
Reports say the meeting presented a forum for the SDF officials to express their concerns about issues they think and hope will feature on the dialogue table.
After the meeting, Joshua Osih outlined that their political responsibility is to make sure the main reason why the dialogue has been convened (Anglophone crisis) is not mixed up with other issues.
According to Joshua Osih, “Now that the dialogue has been called, we are waiting to see what it looks like, see what is on the table, see what is to offer…We are ready to give all our good assistance to make sure that this situation in the North West and South West is brought back to normal”, he affirms.
