Speaking at the occasion, Prof Wilfred Gabsa called on members to show proof of objectivity and intellectual honesty in scrutinizing the various candidates’ files. The SG of the Ministry of Higher Education reminded that“The Commission, for which the Vice Chairperson is the Minister of Public Service and Administrative Reforms, is an inter-ministerial forum that makes proposals on equivalences for foreign certificates, academic entitlements and grades, as well as on the recognition of foreign institutions whose certificates can lead to the integration, reclassification or advancement of civil servants of the various corps of the Cameroonian civil service in keeping with the rules and regulations that apply.”
In a chat with reporters, Prof Gabsa stressed that “the Commission created to enhance academic excellence in the country is examining equivalence files in general education, professional and technical education. Most of those who present fake certificates and have jobs in companies and other structures in Cameroon are being pursued in law courts for their acts.”
