Nganou Djoumessi gives 2020 orientation to collaborators

Public Works Minister, Emmanuel Nganou Djoumessi has given out orientations to staff of the cen-tral and devolved services of his ministry to ensure that their objectives for 2020 are attained.
He gave the orientation last January 21 and 22, 2020 at the National Advanced School of Public Works in Yaounde during the Annual Conference of officials of the central and devolved services of the Ministry of Public Works that culminated with New Year wishes presentation ceremony, to the Minister and Secretary of State to the Minister of Public Works in charge of Roads, Armand Ndjodom.
Brainstorming on the theme “the rationalisation of technical options and the improvement of gov-ernance in road construction in Cameroon,” officials of the central and devolved services of the ministry used the conference as an opportunity to consolidate already stated proposals relating to the control of costs and the quality of road infrastructures.

The Minister reminded his collaborators that “road is at the centre of development and that is why, in spite of many constraints, we must remain committed and innovative.”
He advised his collaborators to promote creativity spirit, team spirit, duty spirit and that of perma-nent motivation.
In response to preoccupations expressed on behalf of the entire human resources of the Ministry of Public Works by the Secretary General, Urbain Noel Ebang Mve, Minister Emmanuel Nganou Djoumessi promised to continuously ameliorate the financial and working conditionsof his staff so that they can perform well at work.
As priorities for 2020, the Minister announced the completion of the ring-road project in the North West region, the start of exploitation of automatic tollgates etc.
Instructing members of technical control missions to produce monthly reports and forward to him for appreciation, he tasked his collaborators to disassociate themselves from too much bureaucratic attitudes.
Presenting the balance sheet for 2019, the SG regretted that the execution of road projects in the country was marred by lack of sufficient funds in the state coffers and insecurity in the North West, South West, and Far North regions.
