Parliamentary business begins after re-election of Senator Niat Njifenji, Hon Cavaye Yeguie

The Upper and Lower Houses of Cameroon’s Parliament have confirmed the leadership positions of Senator Marcel Niat Njifenji at the Senate and Hon Cavaye Yeguie Djibril at the National Assembly. They were re-elected unchallenged last March 19, 2025 during separate sessions in Parliament.

Top on the agenda was the validation of the Members of the various Committees whose names were read out by the Right Honourable Speaker and their memberships validated without any objection. The lists of the Members of the various Committees were constituted on Tuesday, March 19, 2025 according to the provisions of Section 21 subsection 1 of the Standing Orders of the National Assembly.

Members of the National Assembly then met at a plenary sitting to designate members of the 9 commissions of the House namely; Committee on Constitutional Laws, Human Rights and Freedoms, Justice, Legislation, and Standing Orders and Administration headed by Hon. Zondol Hersesse, Committee on Finance and Budget headed by Hon. Moutymbo Rosette Julienne épouse Ayayi, Foreign Affairs Committee headed by Hon. Banmi Emmanuel Dingha, Committee on National Defence and Security headed by Hon Ali Salihou, Committee on Economic Affairs, Planning and Regional Development headed by Hon Mbe Assae Mendomo Théodore Alexandre, Committee on Education, Vocational Training and Youths headed by Hon Fandja Gabriel, Committee on Cultural, Social and Family Affairs headed by Hon Douvaouissa Aissa Hamadi, Committee on Production and Trade headed by Hon Mbakam Chouga Guillaume  and Committee on Resolutions and Petitions headed by Hon Man Jacqueline Christiane épse Simbe.

The MPs last March 21, 2025 received 6 bills from government and deemed them acceptable for scrutiny.
