Members of the Council of Protestant Churches of Cameroon converged on the Lutheran Fraternity Church of Cameroon at Mimboman neighbourhood in Yaounde last October 27, 2019 to pray for peace and reconciliation in the country.
In his liturgy, Rev Tchoubourka Jean Pierre of the host church called on Christians to open their hearts to accept God’s projects for Cameroon.
The special thanksgiving mass attended by Ministers, Director of Civil Cabinet of the Presidency of the Republic, Samuel Mvondo Ayolo as personal representative of the President of the Republic, Paul Biya, was offered to God to crown weeklong activities organised since last October 23, 2019 in Cameroon, to mark the Week of Protestantism in Cameroon on the theme “synergy of prayers for dialogue, forgiveness and reconciliation.”
In the welcome note of the host church, the man of God said the Major National Dialogue that took place last September 30 to October 4, 2019 offered Cameroonians, an ideal moment for mutual for-giveness, peace and reconciliation.
Reading out the message of the Council to Christians in particular and Cameroonians in general, the 1st Vice President, Rev Bessala Mbesse Guy Emmanuel of the Eglise Presbyterienne du Cameroun, while stressing that forgiveness and reconciliation are God’s projects, urged citizens not to close their hearts to what God wants for the country.
The Council of Protestant Churches in Cameroon made up of 11 churches has as Chair, Rev Fonki Samuel Forba who doubles as moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon, PCC.
It’s worth noting that the last Sunday of October for the past 95 years since the thesis of Luther is dedicated to the celebration of Reformation by protestant churches.
