Societe Generale Cameroun rewards laureates with labour medals

93 recipients of the Société Générale Cameroun’s over 600 workers in the nation were awarded meritorious medals of gold, silver and vermeil totalling 102, at Hotel Akwa Palace last Friday May 5.
The bi-annual ceremony was presided over by the Governor of the Littoral Region Ivaha Diboua in the presence of the Administrator Director General (ADG) of Société Générale Cameroun Alexandre Beziaud, the Governor’s entourage, the newly appointed Director General of Société Générale Cameroun, their Human Resource Directress, Syndicate Chiefs, other distinguished guests, and a cluster of workers and their relatives and friends.
Workers were rewarded for their remarkable performance of their duties and loyalty over the years. The gesture is also seen to be a mark of confidence and honour by Société Générale to their workers and family as the Administrator Director General declared.

“It is a great honour by the bank together with the multitude of workers to recognise these recipients. Totalling 102 in number, Mr. Governor. 15 of them are rewarded with gold medals, 54 rewarded with sliver medals and 33 vermeil medals. Mr. Governor, these people represent a shining example of those at the back ground of the bank’s development and also those of the Republic as a whole. In fact, the prosperity of the enterprise participates directly in the economic advancement of the nation. In Société Générale, work actually represents both material and spiritual benefits. In fact, we respect human dignity. For decades now, this exercise represents part of our social responsibilities.”
He emphasised some of the cardinal social objectives as hygiene and sanitation that permits all collaborators to work in union for the health and well-being of the citizens, the promotion of sports, and the constant dialogue between management and workers on staff concerns including salaries.
Alexandre Beziaud also addressed issues related to the Cameroonisation of the workforce including gender balance in top positions among others, like employment of the young and training. For five straight years, Société Générale won first position in credit financing to personal accounts and enterprises.
The Governor Ivaha Diboua who was also representing the Minister of Labour, said to be unavoidably absent, thanked the Administrator Director General for this warm words of welcome and especially in making efforts to fulfil the social policies as instructed by the Head of State.
He acknowledged national representation of the bank in all the regions of the nation and also the Cameroonisation and feminisation in top management positions. Ivaha Diboua encouraged the efforts made by the bank towards youth employment and the improvement of their capacities, among others. To the laureates he advised them not sleep on their laurels and to others he said hard work will merit their future medals.
