After making derogatory comments about Morocco, which defeated the East African team 3-0 in their opening match of the tournament on Wednesday, Tanzania’s coach Adel Amrouche has been suspended from the Africa Cup of Nations finals.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) disciplinary committee punished Amrouche for eight matches after receiving a complaint from Morocco, according to the Tanzania Football Federation. No announcement has yet been made by CAF.
Coach Amrouche has been placed on suspension by the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF).
Clifford Mario Ndimbo, a spokesman for the TFF, stated that Hemed Morocco has been named acting coach as a result of that decision, and Juma Mgunda will support him.
Amrouche had claimed that Morocco was influencing the selection of referees and had too much influence on African football’s power structures.
