“The President loves all of you because you are committed to his higher education vision. Your dream was to have computers. Such a dream now is a reality. President Paul Biya is your father. He said the computers were of the latest technology as such a wonderful tool for learning.
Students who had thronged the Dorothy Limunga Njeuma amphitheatre of the University of Buea greeted the minister’s speech with deafening plaudits from time to time.
The plaudits became even louder when Prof. Fame Ndongo told the students that: “The Head of State has given you the best, make good use of it.”

He announced that a digital University (Université Numérique) was being conceived for Cameroon so that the country can progress from classical university to a veritably modern one.
In a vote of thanks delivered by a student of UB, Ntui Oben Obi Agbor praised President Paul Biya for promoting learning and culture and above all for having students at heart.
UB’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Horace Manga said the rest of the computers would be distributed in the various Faculties of UB to biometrically registered students so they reach every deserving learner. He stressed that each copy of the computer must be tested before being handed over to the students and once received no complaint would be entertained afterwards.
An estimated 13.898 biometrically registered students of the University of Buea (UB) and sundry high institutions of learning in Buea will receive the Paul Biya-Higher Education Vision (PB-HEV) laptop computers during this first phase of distribution.
