Africa’s Global Bank, United Bank for Africa (UBA) has appointed Fonda Fred Fonda as Chief Finance Officer (CFO) for Africa, where he will oversee the bank’s subsidiaries in Central, West, East, and Southern Africa. Before his appointment, he served as CFO for UBA Cameroon.
Fonda is a Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA) by profession with several years of experience in developing and implementing financial strategies, planning and developing the activities of the bank to strengthen the financial capacity of the bank in line with the overall bank strategy and regulatory standards, and ensuring sustainable balance sheet growth.
His years of experience span across various sectors working with reputable and high-profile institutions in various capacities.
Before joining UBA Cameroon, Fonda worked as a consultant with Kiel Financial in London and as the CFO of the National Financial Credit (NFC) Bank in Cameroon. He holds a BSc Honors Degree in Accountancy from the University of Buea in Cameroon and a master’s degree in Corporate Finance and Investment from the prestigious London Metropolitan University.
Fonda Fred Fonda effectively began his new role as Chief Finance Officer – UBA Africa from October 1, 2024, subject to Nigeria regulatory approvals. He will be based at the UBA Plc head office in Lagos, Nigeria.
