The Chairman and Founder of United Bank for Africa (UBA) has made another historic stride by diversifying its continental social responsibility from mentoring and financially supporting youth entrepreneurship to offering to financially promote the African Union peace missions in the continent.
The milestone that took place at the corridors of the recent African Union Summit in Addis Ababa, showed a viral footage sent by UBA Cameroon where an agreement is said to have contained an engagement to the tune of 500.000 US dollars offered to the African Union to facilitate their sordid engagements in peace missions across the entire continent.

This donation, stated the UBA group readout, supports the AU’s efforts towards promoting security, conflict resolution, sustainable development and a unified Africa as envisioned in the AU’s Africa Agenda 2063. The All Peace Fund plays a crucial role in financing mediation and preventive diplomacy efforts across Africa thereby strengthening institutional capacity and ensuring rapid responses to emerging conflicts. UBA’s support underscores it’s dedication to the collective progress of African nations reinforcing the UBA Group’s longstanding belief that economic growth and regional stability go hand in hand.
Acknowledging the UBA Group Chairman’s gesture, the Chair of the Executive Management Committee All Peace Fund, H.E.Moussa Faki Mohamat stated that “Peace is synonymous with resources. If we want development and stability, we must achieve peace. The United Bank for Africa has demonstrated their commitment to the development of our continent by this commitment through sustainable resources. Together we will continue to build a continent for the future”.
Countries that benefitted from the donation include Nigeria and 19 other countries for the supply of relief materials, critical care facilities and financial support to governments.
The African Union Peace Fund (AUPF) is a financial mechanism established by the African Union to support peace security initiatives across the continent. It is seen to be a key pillar of the African Peace and Security Architecture (APSA). The UBA Group has stretched as far as the United Kingdom and the U.S.A and operational in 20 African countries.
