Unidentified gunmen invade Mokunda village, kill senior warrant officer Mbonde Emmanuel

It was a scene of consternation and bewilderment in Mokunda village, Limbe II Subdivision following the assassination of senior warrant officer Mbonde Emmanuel of the Limbe Naval Base on the wee hours of Monday February 4.
According to reports The SUN gathered, an unknown gunmen invaded Mokunda village in Limbe II municipality, sources say, the gunmen were about  15 divided in separate groups searched almost the whole village simultaneously before ransacking the resident of the warrant officer assassinating him and latter setting his car ablaze at about 12:30am.
The SUN further learnt that  in the course of the search senior warrant officer Mbonde Emmanuel in his mid-fifties working at the Limbe Naval Base who is due retirement in two years was brutally assassinated.
Further reports reveal that, several locals were kidnapped but were later released. Unfortunately, a certain Mark Ngomba Ekoko is said to be in separatist captivity.

A source who spoke on grounds of anonymity said: “Two of us were their target. Who sent them is the question to be answered by state authorities.
“They entered the village, went straight to Wonya Lifofa compound up the hill, and surrendered my uncle, Peter Love, all my cousins, nephews including my mother while surrounding my house armed to the teeth.
“They left later and attacked Mbonde and assassinated him. Who is this monster that wants the blood of Mokunda people using the Anglophone crisis?“ the source questioned.
The corpse of the senior warrant officer Mbonde Emmanuel was later taken to the Limbe Regional Hospital Mortuary awaiting burial. At press time Police have opened investigation into the matter to ascertain the perpetrators of the murdered of the officer.
