Varsity heads thank Biya for reappointing Fame Ndongo at Higher Education

Vice Chancellors and Rectors of the eight state universities in the country, gathered under their umbrella association, the Conference of Heads of University Institutions, have congratulated the Minister of Higher Education, Chancellor of Academic Orders, Prof Jacques Fame Ndongo for what they term “exceptional ministerial career” following his reappointment last March 2, 2018 by the President of the Republic, Paul Biya.

During a courtesy call paid last March 13, 2018 at the Ministry of Higher Education in Yaounde, the Vice Chancellors and Rectors of State Universities led by the President of their conference, Prof Maurice Aurelien Sosso of the University of Yaounde I expressed gratitude to the President of the Republic for the renewed mark of confidence placed in Prof Jacques Fame Ndongo and reiterated their commitment to the new university governance policy that has given birth to several reforms in the higher education sector.
Except for the Rector of the University of Ngaoundere who was unavoidably absent, the Vice Chancellors of the Universities of Buea and Bamenda, the Rectors of the Universities of Yaounde I, Yaounde II, Douala, Dschang and Maroua rejoiced that the consecutive reappointment of Fame Ndongo as Minister of Higher Education since 8 December 2004 has made him the longest serving Minister of Higher Education in Cameroon and within CAMES region.
They hailed Prof Fame Ndongo for his constructive and innovative spirit in the search of solutions to societal problems as well as his active contribution to the elaboration of a new university map by diversifying training and bridging the gap for the population in the higher education sector.
In response, Minister Fame Ndongo said he was touched by such a surprise move from the Conference of Heads of University Institutions which enables him to know that he is doing something positive for the higher education family in Cameroon.
Attributing the results being celebrated through his reappointment to his entire collaborators and Heads of University Institutions, Prof Fame Ndongo thanked the President of the Republic, Paul Biya for giving him the opportunity to serve the higher education family.
