In a significant military transition, Brigadier General Eba Eba Benoit officiated the commissioning of the new Commander of the 21st Motorised Infantry Battalion in Buea. The ceremony which held at the Independence Square in Buea, saw a display of discipline and commitment from the troops as the presiding military chief whip emphasised the critical role of the new leadership in safeguarding Cameroon’s territorial sovereignty, particularly in the Southwest region.

Appointed by President Paul Biya, the new Army Commander for the South West Region, Colonel Enye’e Meka Manuel, expressed deep gratitude for the trust placed in him. Speaking to the media, he credited his appointment to divine providence and extended appreciation to the military hierarchy in Yaoundé and Douala for ensuring the smooth execution of the transition.

Colonel Enye’e Meka Manuel reassured the population of his unwavering commitment to maintaining security and stability in the region. Acknowledging the weight of his responsibilities, he emphasised that his mission is not an individual endeavour but a collective effort alongside his Chief of Staff and other military collaborators.
The South West region has been a focal point of security concerns, and the new commander is expected to play a crucial role in addressing these challenges. In his address, Brigadier General Eba Eba Benoit urged the local population to work in collaboration with defense and security forces to combat insecurity effectively.
With his appointment, Colonel Enye’e Meka Manuel steps into a role fraught with challenges, yet he remains resolute in his goal of ensuring peace and stability in the region. His leadership will be closely watched as he embarks on this mission, reinforcing the military’s commitment to national security.
