Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (CPDM) Fako elites on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, marched across the streets of Limbe to express their gratitude through a motion of support to Fako Senior Divisional Officer (SDO), to H.E. President Paul Biya, for facilitating the completion of salary arrears owed CDC workers.

Chanting songs, the militants expressed joy to President Paul Biya, for his fatherly love towards Cameroon Development Cooperation (CDC) workers. They opined that the salary arrears are timely and they will make maximum use of the money.

Speaking during the brief event, Fako SDO, Engelbert Viang Mekala thanked the elites for their prompt reaction to President Paul Biya through a motion of support endorsed by the Head of the CPDM Permanent Divisional Delegation(PDD) for Fako, Prof Pauline Nalova Lyonga.

“We all know what CDC workers were going through, the challenges they have been facing. I remember in August they were complaining and expressing their worries. They didn’t know how they will send their children back-to-school this academic year” Viang Mekala said.
He assured the militants that he will transmit the motion of support immediately to the appropriate quarters.
“We want to express our profound gratitude to H.E. President Paul Biya through this motion of support. We know as the father of the Nation he listens to everyone. The salary arrears paid to CDC workers is an eloquent testimony”, Viang Mekala added.
He urged CDC workers to make maximum use of the money by sending their children to school and also do a lucrative project with the money to benefit themselves and the community.
Viang Mekala called on CDC workers to work hard to improve the revenue of the Corporation so as to take care of the salary of workers and other projects of the institution.
On his part, Limbe City Mayor, Paul Efome L.M Ngale, said “It’s a sign of gratitude for the people of Fako Division to send a motion of support to H.E. President Paul Biya for paying the second phase of the salary arrears of CDC workers.
He opined that the money will not only affect positively the people of Fako Division but to a greater extent the national territory. “It’s an eloquent testimony that the Head of State doesn’t play with the people of Fako Division and Limbe in particular”, he said.
He applauded the management and workers of CDC for being patient. He also re-echoed his voice to that of Fako SDO for the workers to make maximum use of the money.
Limbe City Mayor Paul Efome used the event to announce availability of stores for CDC workers and the general population who intend to do business.
The representative of Prof Nalova, Ndima Gabriel, urged CDC workers to massively vote President Paul Biya on Sunday, October 12, presidential election. “Now that you have received your salary arrears, we expect you to massively vote for CPDM 100%”, he said.
In his intervention, Hon. Findi Stanley said the militants all answered present to show their support to their father, H.E. President Paul Biya for his usual way of hearing the cry of CDC workers.
“President Paul Biya is someone who always matches his words with action. He made a promise to liquidate the salary arrears of CDC workers and it has come to pass. As militants of CPDM, we couldn’t remain silent. That’s why we are here today to extend our gratitude to H.E President Paul Biya”, Hon. Findi said.
