The newly appointed pioneer Divisional Delegate of Decentralisation and Local Development for Meme Division, South West Region, Daniel Meombo Linonge has been installed into office. Daniel Meombo Linonge was recently appointed by a Ministerial decision issued by the Minister of Decentralisation and Local Development, Georges Elanga Obam.
The installation ceremony which was presided at by the First Assistant Senior Divisional Officer, 1st ASDO for Meme, Joseph Nguime took place on Thursday, April 23, 2020 at the Kumba I Council hall.
Speaking during the ceremony, the 1st ASDO told Linonge that as pioneer delegate of a new ministry, he is expected to face lots of challenges executing the daunting task ahead of him. He added that in the face of all these challenges, he is nonetheless expected to live up to expectation. Joseph Nguime noted that the rich profile and academic qualifications of the new delegate depicts he is up to the task.
The Pioneer Divisional Delegate for Decentralisation and Local Development for Meme, it was echoed, has to fully collaborate and assist the five Councils in Meme Division to produce the much needed result in the decentralisation process especially in the domain of development.
On his part, Linonge thanked the government for bestowing confidence in him. He promised to live up to expectation and to lay a solid foundation for the Decentralisation and Local Development Ministry in Meme Division. He further called on the collaboration of the Mayors and council executives to see that this daunting task of ensuring the development of the division is carried out.
Prior to his appointment, Daniel Meombo Linonge was the Chief of Service for Local Development at the Fako Divisional (SDO) Office in Limbe.
