Miss Universe pageant Jan. 2023: Miss Cameroon runner-up visits Limbe Paramount Chiefdom

Miss Cameroon 1st runner-up, Moutetey Monalisa who has been chosen to represent Cameroon at the Miss Universe contest in Louisiana, USA on Wednesday December 7, 2022 paid a courtesy visit at the Limbe Paramount Chiefdom to seek for ancestors blessings.

The 26-year-old is expected to represent Cameroon at the 71st Miss Universe pageant in January 2023.

Monalisa emerged second in the just ended Miss Cameroon contest in Cameroon. She came after Issie Marie Princesse from the Littoral Region, who was crowned winner. The SUN learnt, Issie Marie had not yet realised some projects on the ground and other requirements that could qualify her to represent the country.

Speaking during the visit, the Paramount Chief of Limbe, HM John Elufa Manga Williams expressed happiness to have received three generations in his palace, that is Monalisa, her mother and grandmother.

He added that he is excited as one theirs, is rising beyond expectation that no one ever believed.

“We are honored to have you in the palace. We believe that with God everything is possible. Because you put Him first, you’ll definitely succeed. It’s going to be a pride for us in this town, region, Cameroon to have you come out in very brilliant colors” HM John Elufa said.

He added during the spiritual ritual that the reason Monalisa had to sit on the stool, is because the stool symbolises humility, simplicity and honor. He opined that it is these values that will take her far.

“You might go over there and not have good health and you’ll loose out, so, we pray for journey mercy and God’s protection,”

“We wish that the wishes of everyone here will be achieved for you. We call on God and the ancestors to give you their blessings.” HM John Elufa prayed.

On her part, Moutetey Monalisa thanked the Paramount Chief for Limbe for the warm hospitality accorded to her with her delegations which comprises of her mother, grandmother, Miss MEVCUDA and 2nd runner-up among others.
