MTN Cameroon launches “Serenity Smartphone”

MTN Cameroon has undergone mutational transformation of technology in its Smartphone meant for the safety and surveillance of business premises and the home called Serenity using artificial intelligence (AI).

MTN Business partners, subscribers and of course, media partners, were gathered in Douala, last Thursday August 11 to witness the launching of this technology which has as principal accessories such as external and internal cameras to detect and snap intruders such as assailants including workers involved in all forms of misconduct such as cheating, fraudulent acts and theft.

The video cameras and accessories are equipped with advanced digital technology to raise alarm in the hands of the smartphone possessor and enable the possessor to see the intruders or wrongdoer (s) without any limitation of distance, take necessary action such as calling the police to intervene or if a worker, be dismissed from the organization, as an offender.

It facilitates communications such instructions, feedback and other advantages that individuals, enterprises, big and small, would tailor to their needs. There is also what was described as zoning which enables anyone to experience what you want to see or hear or what you do not want.

The General Manager of MTN Enterprise Business Unit Franck Gerard Kom said they have been evolving into other ventures with various business enterprises, and the Serenity concept has taken them two years to realize. They pegged the cost of the package or kit to FCFA 99,900 cash at hand and there is room for installmental payments.

“Everywhere you go, this innovative technology allows you to detect persons and movements in your home or business premises especially to know exactly whether there is an intrusion. It also helps to know these things and you can give instructions or calls in the security, all these at affordable prices.

Also present were Mme Daya, Head of the Customer Service, the Marketing Manager Thierry who both explained their roles in the installation, after service, and marketing procedures. An exchange with participants brought to light clarifications, greater understanding and some project limitations, which MTN officials say, they will have to progressively improve on.
