In five separate Ministerial Orders issued last April 10, 2025, the Minister of State Property, Surveys and Land Tenure has withdrawn previous Orders surrendering parcels of lands to some 13 villages in Buea Sub-division. According to Minister Henri Eyebe Ayissi, the change is as a result of the fact that the said parcels of lands earlier surrendered for the expansion of the villages have been discovered to lie within Muyuka sub-division and not Buea. One of the Orders, outlined in four articles reads thus:”It has been ascertained that the parcels of land surrendered for the expansion of the communities of Bokova, Wonjai and Likombe are found in Muyuka Sub-division and not Buea Sub-division as stated in the provisions of Orders No. 001061/MINDCAF/SG/D2 of 18th September 2017 authorizing the surrender of 20ha 14a 98ca on behalf of Bokova village, No. 001072/MINDCAF/AO20 of 18th September 2017 authorizing the surrender of 15ha 12a 06ca to the benefit of Wonjai village community and No. 001059/MINCAF/AO20 of 18th September 2017 authorizing the surrender of 20ha 06a 00ca to the benefit of Likombe village community are here by withdrawn with all its legal consequences. Consequently all Land Certificates issued on these parcels of land for the benefit of the above villages are hereby cancelled. The said parcels of Land shall regain its original judicial nature. The Senior Divisional Officer for Fako and the Divisional Delegate of State Property, Surveys and Land Tenure for Fako are responsible, each in his own sphere, for the application of this decision which will be communicated wherever necessary.”The other villages concerned are: Bova I, Bova II, Lower Muea, Wotewa, Wonyanga, Kombo, Bokwai, Lysoka Wombekie, Lyonga and Musaka. The move by Minister Henri Eyebe Ayissi is said to have been pushed greatly by Hon. Chief Findi Mokondo, alongside traditional rulers of Muyuka Sub-division. In a statement released by the Muyuka Sub-division Chiefs Conference, the president, HRH Kale David Elove who doubles as traditional ruler of Masone village, while informing the population of the Sub-division and the general public, assured all the indigenes of the 18 villages which make up Muyuka Sub-division, of his constant quest  and steadfastness in protecting the territorial boundaries of the Sub-division. “The general public is warned to cease from all transactions with whom so ever on the parcels of land found within Muyuka Sub-division”, the statement reads. Reacting to the ‘big’ news, Member of Parliament for Fako East Constituency in Muyuka, Hon. Chief Findi Stanley Mokondo, last April 16, addressed a letter of Thanks to the president of Muyuka Sub-division Chiefs Conference, HRH Kale David Elove.
