Nestle offers food items worth FCFA 133 M as solace amidst COVID-19

2000 cartons of sundry food items were presented by Nestlé Cameroon officials to the Director of Health Promotion at the Ministry of Public Health in Yaounde, last April 23, 2020 as the first consignment geared towards helping Cameroonians at this period of the pandemic.
During the handover to Dr. Fanne Mahamat, Nestlé officials held that: “Nestlé has in mind to contribute to preserve the health and wellness of families and communities and to play an essential role at this period of the covid-19 virus.” They continued that they have “the responsibility to supply good food to especially those who are most vulnerable in society”.

The Administrator General of Nestlé Cameroon said it was within the framework of Nestlé Group to improve the standard of living and also to contribute to a healthy future of citizens. They also assured that all the necessary steps to secure the health of their employees, distributors and the rest of the chain of production in accordance with government regulations for which they attach extreme importance, have been respected.
Nestlé Cameroon expressed their determination to continue to work hand in glove with the Public Health Ministry and other stakeholders to achieve related goals. They promised in the presence of Dr. Mahamat who represented Minister Malachie, that in the foreseeable future, Nestlé Cameroon will offer 40.000 surgical masks to medical circles in Cameroon. At the global level, it was disclosed that Nestlé Group had since partnered with the International Red Cross and Red Crescent to reinforce the fight against the Covid-19 virus.
Thanking everyone, Robert Helou declared, “On behalf of Nestlé Cameroon workers I thank the Ministry of Public Health, doctors, nurses, all health workers and all Cameroonians who do not spare any effort in the fight against this pandemic. It is proof that Nestle Cameroon is concerned to contribute good food to Cameroonians”. Over 110.000 persons will benefit from above FCFA 133 million offers.
