The Minister of Public Works, Emmanuel Nganou Djoumessi has saluted Cameroon-Italy cooperation in road infrastructure development. The Minister was speaking last October 24, 2025 while receiving in audience the outgoing Italian Ambassador to Cameroon, H.E Filippo Scammacca Del Murgo, who has come to the end of his mission in the country.
During his four-year stay in Cameroon, the Italian Diplomat is said to have accompanied the putting in place of the following projects; Olounou-Oveng road being executed by Cosedil Company and the Ebolowa-Akom II-Kribi road conferred on the ICM Company.

Despite facing some environmental and social exigencies that delayed the start of these road projects, they continue to catch the attention of the Italian Ambassador who wants to see them delivered on time.
Ambassador Filippo Scammacca Del Murgo saluted the constant efforts of the Ministry of Public Works to ensure proper execution of these projects despite the financial constraint faced by the government.
In other spheres, the Cameroon-Italy cooperation was extended to the academic domain through the collaboration of the National Advance School of Public Works and the University of Padoue in Italy. This partnership was based on training, applied research and the transfer of competences.
At the end of the audience, H.E Filippo Scammacca Del Murgo expressed satisfaction over the realisations and encouraged Cameroon to continue with the many Italian Companies manifesting their interest in the Cameroonian market.
He thanked the Public Works Minister for his personal commitment in the concretisation of numerous road projects.
The Public Works boss acknowledged the role diplomacy plays in fostering bilateral cooperations and congratulated the Ambassador on the work accomplished.
