The President of the Republic, Paul Biya has been invited to attend the official coronation ceremony of King Charles VI next May 6, 2023 in London. The information was disclosed by the British Government Minister of State for Development and Africa, Andrew Mitchell while on a working visit in Cameroon.
Talking to CRTV in an exclusive chat, Hon Andrew Mitchell said the coronation will be a unique moment in the life of the British monarchy “most people were born when the last coronation had taken place, for us it is a very exciting time, it for us a national show biz for the British as their new King is crowned. It is an enormous operation in terms of security. I have invited the President of the Republic of Cameroon and I hope he comes and join us. People will come across the world to see an off lifting spectacle. I hope King Charles VI will visit Cameroon in the not distant future.”
Hon Andrew Mitchell was received in audience by the Prime Minister, Head of Government, Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute on behalf of the President of the Republic, Paul Biya last April 6, 2023 at the Star Building in Yaounde.
He was welcome at the car by the Director of Cabinet of the Prime Minister, Head of Government, Balungeli Confiance Ebune who then introduced the August guest to the Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute. For over an hour, the PM, Head of Government discussed with the British Minister of State for Development and Africa. Both personalities discussed many subjects linked to the rich cooperation between Cameroon and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
Hon Andrew Mitchell said “the meeting with the Prime Minister enabled us to discuss at a time the importance of developing our trade ties and investment between Great Britain and Cameroon. They equally discussed security and defence, humanitarian relation and development relation. The relationship between Cameroon and Great Britain are deep and historical.
The one time business man, who came to Cameroon four decades ago, did not hide his joy to return to a country which the UK intends to reinforce its cooperation.
