The Moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon (PCC), Rt. Rev. Miki Hans Abia, last March 13, 2025, expressed profound joy as work commenced on a groundbreaking project, to construct the Presbyterian Nurses School in Limbe. This initiative by the PCC promises to elevate nursing education and improve healthcare services in Limbe, South West region and the nation at large.

The visit to the site situated directly opposite the Presbyterian Church Down Beach, was marked by what the Moderator referred to as a ‘mini foundation stone’, where he and other PCC officials offered heartfelt prayers of thanksgiving to God Almighty for this significant endeavour. They also dedicated all workers involved in the project to God’s protection and guidance.

The ambitious project at the moment features fifty foundational pillar holes to support a four-story nursing school. The moderator and his team planted a Bible and a Cross at each hole. According to Rt. Rev. Miki, this symbolises that the structure is built upon Christ’s teachings and is intended for the service of both Christ and humanity. The school is set to be completed within twelve months. This investment not only aims to enhance healthcare education but also reflects the PCC’s commitment to community development.
Mayor Mbwaye Eposi Florence of Limbe 1 Council, who also serves as the Fako South Presbytery Delegate at the Synod Office, conveyed her gratitude on behalf of Limbe 1 inhabitants. “This area had long been neglected and remained swampy; I am truly overwhelmed that the PCC has chosen to transform it for the benefit of our Limbe population especially,” she stated. The establishment of the construction of the Presbyterian Nurses School marks a historic step for the PCC in Limbe, in its educational/health programme within communities.
