Secondary Education Minister, Prof Nalova Lyonga has declared that the 25th edition of 2025 FENASSCO League A Games is ‘‘one of the best organised because we have had no case of diarrhoea.’’ She gave her impression to reporters in the presence of the Secretary of State in the Ministry of Secondary Education in Charge of Teachers’ Training, Bayaola Boniface among others, last May 31, 2025 at the end of the schools’ sports competition at the Blue Grand Stand in the sports arena of GBHS Abong-Mbang, Upper Nyong Division, East region of Cameroon.

The Secondary Education boss added that ‘‘those are some of the very easy mass illnesses that you get when you bring students together. The doctors are all, well, they are busy but not busy with catastrophic cases. So, it’s been very, very safe. People have been eating at the Games Village and nobody is complaining. So, it is very good. The safety level of the games, extremely good. The security forces as you see them, they are all over the place. Wherever I am, they are there. Whether I am there or not, there will be students, the governor, the SDO, all the administration, the mayor. All of them are so good that I don’t even know who to call and who not to call. But it’s just been so great. I used an expression. I said we have felt like being in a home without being at home. You know, home away from home. So, we are at home.’’

She further explained that ‘‘you can’t see a village like this, Bagofit has everything. Athletics, basketball, you know, everything that we wanted, we had it. We had the intellectual games at Bagofit and everybody was taking part. And we were able to commune with the students who were in Dimako while we were here in Abong Mbang. We wanted to showcase our technology and how we are able to use digitalisation.”

The Minister detailed that, “Now MINSEC is doing a lot without talking. We don’t say what we have done as far as digitalisation is concerned. And this was an occasion for us to show how we can commune with students from two sides. These were two sides, you know. I hope that students can see it and also take the demonstration that we did, how they can have an assistant tutor in the website.”

Minister Nalova Lyonga concluded that, ‘‘the students don’t even need to wait for scammers to send them questions. Because we have passed questions inside the site. And this is what we did by making the students experience the academic extent that MINSEC has done as well as the sports. You know, look at this sort of a lion player come in and associate with the games. It’s a wonderful thing. I mean, we are going to a level that nobody has been since this game started.”

She further entreated students to the use of artificial intelligence while thanking ANAFOR for offering 5000 plants to support the One Athlete, One Tree initiative.

The Minister of Secondary Education was crowned Queen mother by the traditional rulers of the East Region while Cameroon’s renowned football player, Boyomo Enzo Flavien was designated FENASSCO League A games ambassador.

Prof Nalova Lyonga while congratulating the Far North Region for their top position in the official medals’ classification with 59 of them, closely followed at the 2nd position by the West region with 58 medals, while the Centre emerge 3rd with 36 medals, announced that the West region will play host to the 26th edition of FENASSCO League A Games next year.
