As we went to press yesterday, we got information that two kids were shot death Saturday by soldiers who apparently mistook them for separatists – a girl, 12 and a boy, 14.
Reports suggest that the children were crossing the road, running like every kid will do when soldiers spotted and killed them.
The military hilux coming from Muyuka, saw the kids running, followed and then shot them on their heads. This came barely 48 hours after civilians were said to have been killed.
Widespread condemnation has since greeted the events in Ekona.
