Technical Committee for selection, orientation of Youth Entrepreneurship Promotion Programme studies files

The Minister of Youth Affairs and Civic Education, Mounouna Foutsou recently chaired the 2025 session of the Technical Committee for the selection and orientation of the Youth Entrepreneurship Promotion Programme in Yaoundé.

Opening the meeting, Mounouna Foutsou congratulated the Secretary General of CONFEJES, Louisette-Renee Thobi, for her re-election and also congratulated a young female Cameroonian, Ornella De Vinyle Nzouegou, for winning the second prize of Bernadette Mapoke Ndongo Prize for the Excellence International Contest of Youth Enterprise.

Speaking at the occasion, Minister Mounouna Foutsou said “there is a high demand by Cameroonian youth, the interventions of friends and partners of our States to participate in the integrated fight against all the scourges facing some of these youth in our continent notably by boosting their self-employment. As you must have seen when you go down to the field, the results in the Cameroon Youth Entrepreneurship Promotion Programme are visible in locality.’’

The Cameroon Youth Affairs and Civic Education boss concluded his speech by telling members of the Committee that ‘‘for five days, you will be examining tens of files deposited by youth, women and men in their quest for capital to start or develop their own enterprises. Knowing that you have good profiles and your respective experiences, I do not doubt that you will distinguish your country projects that are more bankable.’’

Taking the floor earlier, the SG of CONFEJES, Louisette-Renee Thobi explained that ‘‘there is a multilateral crisis that is reducing development aid thus, it is important for experts who are here now to take into account this complicated international context so as to formulate recommendations aimed at ameliorating the deployment of this programme for the socio-economic development of youth and their participation in the development of their countries.’’
