Seventy three Cameroonians who have successfully completed the UBA Group’s flagship Graduate Management Accelerated Programme (GMAP) have been hailed for their hard work, perseverance and purpose for demonstrating their potential to build their leadership qualities and technical capacities in the pursuit of their dreams.

The ominous revelations were joyfully expressed during a colourful graduation ceremony that held in Lagos last October 19. Encouraged by the enthusiasm and performance of all the youth, the group reaffirmed its dedication to continue to nurture Africa’s next generation of leaders through GMAP’s six months internship flagship initiative. Considering the enthusiasm and performance of the youth, other senior executives referred to the soul of GMAP by emphasising the bank’s unwavering belief in the power of human capital development to shape the continent’s future. One of the key speakers of the event, Mr. Nweke, an executive of the group, is reported to have praised the graduates for their perseverance and drive. He ascertained the 73 as “Africa’s next generation of innovators, leaders and ambassadors of an enduring legacy.” Mr. Nweke included that, “this is a celebration of potential, perseverance and purpose. You are not just graduates, you are also leaders-in-the making. Africa’s future will not be shaped by chance but by capable and courageous individuals like you.”

Seventy three Cameroonians who are beneficiaries of this beffiting programme have already been employed by UBA Cameroon, which according to the official readout, is within the framework of reinforcing the group’s commitment to supporting youth employment and capacity building in this nation and beyond.
In his remarks expressing gratitude to the family, the MD/CEO, Jude Anele is reported to have said, “UBA Cameroon takes great pride in empowering talented young Cameroonians and giving them a platform to grow within a globally recognised and respected financial institution. This initiative aligns with our vision to promote sustainable employment and leadership development among the youth”, she said.
According to the official readout, through GMAP’s initiative, UBA Cameroon continues to play a vital role in driving financial inclusion, technological innovation and youth empowerment which clearly demonstrates that Africa’s growth depends on its people. In an earlier programme, the Founder and Chair of UBA Group,Tony Elumelu, has trained and mentored over two hundred thousand youth in over 10years and provided them a non-refundable start-up capital of US dollars 10.000 to realise their potentials and many of them have already become millionaires and employers.
The UBA Group have a customer- base of 45 million served by a workforce of 25000 across 20 African countries, the UK, USA, France and the United Arab Emirates.
