Elements of the Rapid Intervention Battalion, BIR have handed a repaired ambulance to the Limbe Regional Hospital in Mile I. The colourful ceremony which took place on Friday, September 27, 2019 at the Limbe Regional Hospital premises brought together a handful of workers of the BIR and that of the Regional Hospital.
Speaking during the event, the head of the medical unit of the BIR, Colonel Alain Forgo, said since 2010 that the BIR handed the ambulance to the hospital, there has been a close partnership between the hospital and the BIR and the relationship must continue to exist for the development of the municipality. He added that the hospital always treats soldiers with care when they are wounded.
On his part, the Director of the Limbe Regional Hospital Limbe, Dr. Kinge Thompson said the healthy and faithful collaboration which has been going on between the ministry of public health and the ministry of defence which extended to the hospital in July 2010, led to a partnership with a new medicalise ambulance. Dr. Kinge added that the Limbe community has been enjoying a soft side of the military. “The military also did some renovations, brought beds and they have been sending their personnel, doctors to serve the community.”
He added that the military has been doing so much for the Limbe community and also to the entire South West Region. The director affirmed that the military is out to support the people in the community.
