Cameroon election management body, Elections Cameroon, ELECAM organised last November 12, 2025 a training of trainers’ workshop in Yaoundé, in prelude to the November 30, 2025 election of Regional Councillors in the country. The event was chaired by the Deputy Director General of Election, Abdoulkarimou who reminded the participants of the context of the election that will produce 20 regional results that is; 2 each per region.

This capacity-building session will equip field staff with knowledge who will later on train local polling and regional supervisory commission members, ensuring a smooth electoral process.
Abdoulkarimou reminded participants that ‘‘the objective is to ensure the optimal management of transparent and credible polling stations in the country.”
According to the Deputy Director General of Election at ELECAM, “our staff must master the specificity of this election. They must be well trained in order to overcome the challenges lying ahead as two distinct electors are involved here. So, this is a fairly complex election at this level. We are going to insist on the local election commission in the polling stations. We will also insist on the organisation, the functioning and the responsibility of the regional commission of supervision. The regional commission of supervision is the one that will proceed to the centralisation of the results, to the verification of the PVs and to the proclamation of the results of the regional council elections’’, explained the Deputy DG of Election.
He concluded that, ‘‘we are going to train a number of collaborators. We are accompanied by experts who will assist us in this task. We will go down to the field to train the members of the college, the members of the regional commission of supervision and the members of the local election commission. It is a fairly light election with a little more than 25,000 voters in barely 200 polling stations.’’
