The Mayor of Kumba 1 Council Prince Eseme Moses Esembe, has been honoured with a Special Achievement Award of Assiduity.
The special achievement award was handed to the development orientated Mayor of the Kumba I Sub Divisional Council Prince Barrister Eseme Moses Esembe on the sidelines of activities marking the 54th edition of Cameroon’s National Day celebration in Kumba on Wednesday May 20, 2026 at the esplanade of the Kumba City grandstand.
The prestigious recognition was handed to the Mayor by the Senior Divisional Officer for Meme, Chamberlain Ntou’ou Ndong. This award happens to be the 2nd same day, same ceremony , after that of the Knight of National Order of Merit , from the Head of State through the Grand Chancellor of National order.
Going by the inscription on the award plaque, the distinction was bestowed on Prince Eseme Moses Esembe “as a super star community developer for his excellent and assiduous developmental services rendered to his community as nation builder and outstanding municipal administrator par excellence in Kumba.”
The award recognized the Mayor’s continuous efforts in promoting development within the Kumba I Municipality through community-driven initiatives, infrastructural improvement and administrative leadership aimed at improving the welfare of the population especially as best in realisation of numerous projects in his municipality in record time and his outstanding performance in putting the municipality as the cleanness in the division and region
Mayor Eseme Moses Esembe has been credited for championing several municipal projects focused on sanitation, urban modernization, youth empowerment and the strengthening of grassroots participation in local governance. His leadership style and commitment to public service have earned him admiration from many inhabitants of the municipality.
Speaking during the ceremony, admirers of the Mayor described the distinction as a square peg in square hole reward for a municipal authority whose dedication to community development continues to leave a visible impact on the lives of the people of Kumba I.
The award ceremony formed part of activities commemorating Cameroon’s 54th National Day celebrated under the theme, “National Unity, Backbone of our Defence System, Bedrock of Cameroon’s Development.”
