MTN Cameroon new payment portal targets secondary, high schools

Parents of, and Students of secondary and high schools will soon breathe a sigh of relief during the 2018-2019 academic year after the introduction of mobile money or MOMO payments of school fees and other related charges throughout the national territory. Media Practitioners were informed of this development during a press conference organized by the giant mobile telephony, MTN, at their headquarter precincts on Wednesday August 1, in Douala where all the worries posed by participants were cleared by especially the General Manager for MTN Mobile Financial Services, Alain Nomo.
Like all digitized services, the innovation which had earlier been enjoyed by students of Universities across the nation, is known to be time-saving, rapid, secure, and sure without any significant levies attached to their transactions or services. MoMo settlements are known to be active in supermarkets and other shops, the payment of electric bills, bus tickets and money transfers, medical bills, among others.

Aside from the payment of school fees in the present package, parents will be able to tele-guide the juvenile delinquency of their children, as well as monitor class performance know their chlidrens’ companions and a little beyond, but the MTN session head described the procedure as very easy and practical, despite the accumulated services.
“Let the proposed user no matter where he may be, type a code, enter the payment amount, receives an electronic notification on his telephone screen within a website in which he or she could be connected and print. This same website will be known to the school. No significant charges. On this our platform, we will extend this services even to those students without bank accounts to equally execute payment with other e-wallets. In our payment portal, one can use any other payment portal of one’s choice,” Alain Nomo clarified.
Other niceties to be reaped from the innovation are, for instance, the automatic toll gate tax, to avoid traffic jams.On questions of succession within a family, legal authority will be needed to transact berieved account. On questions of Cyber Criminality, Nomo warned users from disclosing their PIN Codes to anyone. Change problems will no longer be a headache. Users, are in addition, expected to enjoy mouth-watering bonuses of 50% for each transaction made through this portal, Nomo stated.
