In order to ensure optimal effectiveness, members and administrative staff of the National Communication Council, NCC will be deployed across the country’s ten regions this week to provide localised regulation. The information was disclosed last November 14, 2025 by the President of the NCC, Joseph Chebongkeng Kalabubsu as he chaired the 45th extraordinary session of the National Communication Council in Yaoundé.

Speaking to reporters in a press declaration, Joseph Chebongkeng Kalabubsu added that these teams will “discreetly utilise the latest mobile technology kits to monitor and record, in real time, all data relevant to their investigations. This monitoring will cover traditional media and community radios. It will be carried out with even greater vigilance on online media and social networks to combat the propagation of false information, hate speech and the publication of erroneous electoral data”, he explained.
He urged media professionals to “avoid the breaches that are all too common during election periods. The success of our country’s democratic process, particularly the smooth running of the campaign for the regional election on November 30, 2025, depends on your behaviour.’’
The National Communication Council boss reminded journalists that ‘‘the role of the media during this election is of strategic importance. You serve as vectors of information, civic education and citizen engagement. The manner in which the media covers the electoral process can either mitigate or exacerbate tensions. Upholding the principles of transparency, impartiality, objectivity and professionalism is a moral imperative and a regulatory requirement for the stability and credibility of our democratic process.’’
While calling on all public and private audiovisual media organs to suspend all political programmes during this regional election campaign, the NCC President said, ‘‘the media must respect citizens’ right to complete honest and accurate information, provide a platform for all candidates and representatives to voice their opinions, diligent observation of the proceedings of polling activities and potential irregularities, strict adherence to your duty to inform and comply with media coverage regulations etc.’’
