Samuel Eto’o has been re-elected president of the Cameroon Football Federation, FECAFOOT after obtaining 85 votes out of 87. The election was held on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Mbankomo Yaounde.
Eto’o will be leading FECAFOOT for the next four years. He won the election unopposed on Saturday, November 29, 2025, with 73.95% of the vote, representing 85 voters. Out of the 87 voters, two votes were declared invalid.

Protesters were seen denouncing the election at the gate of the CAF Centre of Excellence in Mbankomo, Yaounde.
Eto’o, a former Cameroon star player, was elected to the FECAFOOT presidency for the first time in 2021.
His first term was mixed with controversies. His relationship with Cameroon national team coach Marc Brys often made headlines.
The legendary striker hopes to bring positive change to the nation’s football after a dreadful 2026 FIFA World Cup African qualifier campaign. His responsibility will be to bring back the glory days of Cameroon football.
Samuel Eto’o on his official Facebook page said; “I reaffirm my commitment to work for the development of Cameroonian and African football, in line with the vision of CAF President, Dr. Patrice Motsepe. By your side, I will continue to make my modest contribution to the rise and radiance of our football, which I know you care about. No player will be above Cameroon. No coach will be above Cameroon. Anyone who wants to wear the Cameroonian jersey must accept that Cameroon is above them. If they do not accept this, I will take my responsibilities”.
Reacting shortly after the re-election of Eto’o, Junior Njalla Quan said; “In a very normal society, Prof Mouelle Kombi would have already handed in his resignation! The humiliation is just too much Make I go back to my canoe race and sports walk preparations ya! This wuna ndamba na shock”
