CRM advises gov’t to seek support from China to flush out coronavirus in Cameroon

The Cameroon Renaissance Movement (CRM) party of Prof. Maurice Kamto has issued a Press Release, urging the Cameroon government to call on Chinese emergency assistance and expertise in managing the Coronavirus in the country.
Dated Saturday, March 21, 2020 and signed by the National president of the party, Prof. Maurice Kamto, the release reads as follows:
“In view of the real threat that the Covid-19 epidemic represents on the lives of Cameroonians and its rate of expansion in our country, the Cameroon Renaissance Movement (CRM) urges the Government to seek emergency assistance from the Chinese government for the supply of Cameroon with a kit for Coronavirus diagnostic tests, in order to ensure consistent coverage of the country in such equipment; to use Chinese expertise to help Cameroon cope effectively with the dreaded epidemic.”

According to the release, “China, in the city of Wuhan, was the starting point for the disease, which has become a pandemic today. Through its successful management of the Covid-19 outbreak, the Chinese Government, as well as its scientists, have accumulated expertise in measures and actions of distancing, containment, individual and collective hygiene as well as in the clinical and post-clinical care of infected people.”
The CRM also states in the release that “The life of Cameroonians being more important than anything, we should explore all possible avenues to preserve or save lives in order to spare our country from a health disaster.”
